Business Licenses & Permits

Anyone who intends to sell to or recruit customers door-to-door in Greenview, must have a permit before contacting residents.

Solicitors

For Solicitors: 

  • Apply for a permit at the Village Hall during business hours;
    Cost: $75.00 for a 30-day, non-transferable permit.
  • A background check will be performed before permits are issued.
  • Soliciting hours are: 8am-8pm, Monday- Saturday. No Sundays or holidays.
  • Solicitors MUST Carry and display Village permit while soliciting.
  • Solicitors must Cease soliciting immediately upon request from resident or homeowner.
  • Fines for violations: $100 first offense; $200 second offense; $500 third offense.

Residents:

  • Guard your personal information! Never share your social security number, be very careful about signing ANYTHING. 
  • Call 9-1-1 if you do not feel safe
  • Consumer complaints should be addressed to the Illinois Attorney General's office: 800-243-0618
  • If you do not wish to be contacted, display a "No Solicitors" sign
